Couldn't wait any longer: Guns N' Roses's "Chinese Democracy" leaked by blogger

Guns N' Roses fans have been waiting 14 long years for a new album. Chinese Democracy has reportedly been ready for some time now but its release has been held up by Axl Rose's desire for perfection. One blog decided to take matters into their own hands last Wednesday. According to the Telegraph (UK),

"Nine 'mastered, finished' tracks from Chinese Democracy, the album that Axl Rose has been working on for the past 14 years, were posted on a little-known rock website."
The songs have removed from the blog but, as the article reports, they've made their way around the web. I just got done listening to a few of the new songs on youtube and they're just "alright." Of course, I'm not going to link to any of this stuff because I don't need trouble sniffing around here although it might help to bring some new traffic to Pursuing Truth.

I'd like to hear the whole album before judging whether the new stuff stacks up to the old but, so far, this one's probably gonna be a disappointment. One blogger writes, "I can’t believe I’m saying this, but these tracks need more time in the studio." I'd have to agree. I guess 14 years weren't enough time. Another adds, "Recommendation: lock it up and never let it see the light of day." Ouch. Who knows, maybe the other tracks will be better. But probably not.

Like Rage Against the Machine, I might not agree with all their politics but Guns N' Roses rocks. Or, at least they used to back when I was 15 years old. I'm still looking forward to checking out the actual album when it comes out soon. If Axl finally lets it go, that is. And judging but these releases, maybe he should work on it a little longer.
